a better kind of technology.
built around you.

nitrox is exploring what software and hardware could be if we started with people, not platforms. tools that work together instead of trapping you in disconnected silos or confined ecosystems. interfaces that adapt to you, instead of the other way around.

from organizing your thoughts to creating something entirely new, we're building toward a world where technology feels less like something you have to manage and more like an extension of what you want to do.

our guiding principles are simple:

— the application is the interface to your data, not the owner of your data. your work should remain yours — portable, interconnected, and accessible on your terms.

— tools should remove friction where it's negative and add friction where it's positive. you shouldn't have to remember to use a todo list app or even paper planner; that means it's not helping in its current state. however, making distractions harder to access can improve focus.

— everything is an object. every object is a file. every property is a tag. humans think in objects, not files. however, those objects should be stored in files, especially files that are human-readable where possible. all properties are tags, which is just a type of object.

the core suite

the main tools we use for thinking and working efficiently. separate experiences, designed to work better together.

tesseract — your productivity supertool. turn knowledge, plans, and goals into output, action, and habits by bringing notes, tasks, projects, events, and ideas into one interconnected environment, without sacrificing flexibility or control.

prism — content consumption, on your terms. bring newsletters, RSS, saved content, and the feeds you care about - together, without letting endless scrolling dictate your attention.

niko — ai like the movies. a collaborative assistant and friend that helps you explore ideas, untangle your workload, automate busywork, and coordinate your agents, all in a unified workspace.

astrid — the best way to use web apps and explore the web. a browser that puts you back in control of the web, with thoughtful tab management, broad extension support, and quality-of-life improvements that make both web apps browsing feel seamless.

airwaves — your music, all in one place. a seamless way to manage and enjoy your local and streaming music libraries without splitting your listening experience across disconnected apps.

communication

airmail — your email, solved. from a classic inbox to an agentic and informational hub to actually stay informed, no matter the unread count.

bubble — unified messaging, finally. a messaging app that unifies your texts across platforms and stay up-to-date with group chats without getting overwhelmed.

the creative suite

creative software should get out of your way without limiting what you can make. we're exploring powerful, approachable tools for the entire creative process — from the first idea to the finished work.

orchid — design to fit your workflow. a modern design environment for interfaces, graphics, and visual ideas, with the flexibility of professional design software and the freedom of local-first workflows.

blueberry — a music production environment that brings approachable creation together with the depth and flexibility serious projects demand.

cobalt — a code editor that grows with you, from a fast, lightweight writing environment to a fully equipped development workspace.

we're also exploring dedicated tools for illustration, vector graphics, digital painting, pixel art, and animation. different crafts deserve great tools of their own.

systems & utilities

your devices should feel like yours, too. we're interested in making operating systems more customizable, software easier to access, and everyday computing less restrictive.

nexOS — an exploration of a more open computing experience; bringing useful software, deeper customization, and new life to devices across operating systems.

the nitrox hardware vision — eventually, we'd love to explore devices of our own, from personal computers to mobile and audio hardware. technology shouldn't stop being thoughtfully designed when it leaves the screen.

p.s...

not everything here exists yet, and that's okay. these are ideas we're developing, directions we're exploring, and problems we want to solve.

we're building toward better technology, one project at a time, so stay tuned.
